Cadet College Hasanabdal was originally designed to house approximately 480 students. A major expansion in 1996 added new wings, the N.D. Hasan Library, and the Computer Lab, raising the current capacity to around 600 cadets.
Admissions follow a rigorous and inclusive “All Pakistan Open Merit – Need Blind” policy. Every year, approximately 120 students are inducted in Class VIII after qualifying a nationwide entrance exam. The selection process includes:

The cadets hail from all regions and backgrounds, reflecting national diversity and a commitment to meritocracy. While the college offers preparatory training for Pakistan’s Armed Forces, cadets are encouraged to pursue careers in any professional field of their choice. Today, Abdalians are making their mark in civil services, armed forces, academia, technology, medicine, and entrepreneurship.
