Zia Ul Mustafa

Mr. Zia-ul-Mustafa is serving Cadet College Hassan Abdal as lecturer in Urdu, since May 2007. He did his Masters in Urdu Literature from BZU, Multan and he is doing his MPhil from NU, Nowshera. He has been working as a “teachers’ trainer” with UNICEF in its program of “Universal Primary Education” in Sialkot for 3 years. Besides teaching SSC, HSSC, O level & A level and performing house-staff duties in different Wings, he has been serving this institute in some other capacities i.e. Co-In charge Photography Club, Assistant Officer In charge ABDALIAN, In charge Comparative Religions Society and OIC Heritage Club. Currently, he is performing his duties as Housemaster, Haider Wing.
Besides his career in education, he possesses multidimensional expertise and exposure in various fields as another aspect of his personality is literature, as being a poet, critic and translator, he is considered as a part of the intellectuals’ community of our age. His first book of poetry named SHEHR PAS-E-CHARAGH شہر پسِ چراغ was published in 2011 and got an appreciation in the literary circles. His poetry has been published in Pakistan & India both as it’s included as a part of Anthologies of Modern Urdu Poetics of this era. His prose works (literary criticism & research papers) have been published in different worthy literary journals and magazines. As he has a good command on English & Persian as well, he has translated many books of famous western and orientalist authors including some Noble laureates like Rilke, Octavio Paz and famous Mystic Fakhr Uddin Iraqi in Urdu, both from English and Persian languages. Recently, Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) published his translations of Contemporary Nepali Poems in March 2021.
